As a partial explanation where I'm coming from, here's a taste of life around WBAI.

Lisa, or someone, could you please post this to the list WBAI-LSB- PUBLIC? Thank you. Yours, Russell

---- To be forwarded to the list ----------------------------------------------------- Mr. Cohen,

For anyone who is paying attention, the conclusion MUST be that your saying nothing about Lisa's comments about your use of the expression "attack dogs" of two notable and respected African-American activists--Nellie Bailey and Gwen DeBrow--, you thereby admit your racism there.

In fact, your recent argument about the term "snake" as used by Father Lucas of Mike Bloomberg, shows that you accept that you are a racist. The form of your evidence in that case applies perfectly to your use of the term "attack dogs" of Ms. Bailey and Ms. DeBrow. One, again, MUST take your putting forward this argument as an admission of your racism in the case of your description of Ms. Bailey and Ms. DeBrow.

Thank you for coming around on this point, which, as you know, has been vehemently and absurdly denied by your political allies.

There are exactly two possibilities with regard to your argument concerning "snake" by Father Lucas. Either you are not serious, or you are serious and, thereby, an admitted (if in a roundabout way) racist. In either of these cases, you don't belong at WBAI.

So, now, please, resign from the LSB for being the racist you now admit (if in this round-about way) you are. You have no place with WBAI.

Lisa Davis has made a number of spurious charges attempting to paint me as a racist. In the off-chance that some unsuspecting people reading this list might take her seriously, I will offer responses piece by piece. Judge for yourself who is distorting the truth and who is not.

Lisa Davis wrote:

(Cohen's exact response was: " The sledge hammer was made of foam. These people are idiots." ) There is a long history in this country of using ad hominem attacks against Black people and attacking their intelligence. (It should be pointed out that when Cohen found out that the sledge hammer was real, in a face saving move he made an "apology" to Nia. But this does not excuse his calling her out of her name in the first place). <

The Truth: I never called Nia Bediako an idiot. Nor did I make any reference in my statement, "These people are idiots," to Black people as Lisa states. (In fact, most of the idiots I spoke of are white.) My statement refers to those who are participating in a planned campaign of disruption of Local Station Board and Pacifica National Board meetings, orchestrated by the Justice and Unity disgruntlers. They rant and rave at meetings, shout down others who are attempting to talk, and in general attempt to intimidate the independent and non-JU members of the Board and public from conducting the business of governance of WBAI. If you don't like the word "idiots" you can replace it with the word "thugs".

The question is, why is Lisa Davis intentionally twisting the truth?
