So, are you arguing that hypothermia as a result of fuel poverty *doesn't* kill thousands of pensioners every year? Because that's what the comparison to the "death panel" libel would imply. When weighing the balance of deaths from both extremes of heat and cold, it has to be said that the UK will come out ahead in the foreseeable future from anthropogenic global warming. Even the worst case scenarios put the predicted mortality from heat stroke in the hundreds per year, whereas hypothermia kills in the tens of thousands. Though of course, the matter is a global issue, and should be decided on those grounds.
