Yeah, I tried one and it just wouldn't go down.

But many of his bon mots were unforgettable. Here are a few that stuck with me.

"What we have in the U.S. is socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor."

"Intellectuals want to have their asses in the twentieth century and their heads in the eighteenth."

"Nowadays everything changes except the avant garde."
