As a rule, any attempt to reduce aesthetics to natural history is bunkum. The reverse is also true: any attempt to reduce natural history to aesthetics is equally false.
Not sure what the fuss over tones is. Yes, some tones resonate with others and others don't, just like some words rhyme with others and some don't. The former doesn't explain why Serebro rocks, any more than the latter explains Forough Farrokhzad.
