While this is a good propaganda video to counteract a lot of the nonsense that appears in US ads about the Canadian system, it also ignores most of the deficiencies. However one great feature of our system is that there are no co-pays as the video points out. But coverage is limited especially for dental work. There is no universal drug plan. Each province has its own usually limited plan with considerable co-pays. Most European plans are much broader.

We do have a problem with waiting lists. Also, in some areas family practitioners will not take more patients so they end up at emergency wards! Personally my experience with the system has been good. I usually get to see my family doctor the same day I phone. It may take a while to see a specialist but not in an emergency. =========================== All true, although Quebec does uniquely provide universal drug coverage. In any case, the deficiences don't detract from what strikes me as an excellent educational tool which I hope is widely circulated on the net. I've forwarded the link to my friends across the border, some of whom are active around the issue and may have already seen and used it.
