Indeed.
No use arguing with an illusion. But as a footnote to Joana's fine summary, it may be mentioned that THE chief villain in the Rwanda genocide was France. I think one can take that as an index of what the EU as a whole is capable of.
Well, one more point. Treatment of foreign labor is probably worse in the EU than in the U.S.
