Yep, I've noticed this with my students too.  Many self-professed devout 
Christians have surpisingly limited knowledge of what's actually in the 
Bible.  This brings to mind one of my favorite Colbert bits: a Southern 
politician introduced legislation to post the 10 Commandments in 
government buildings, so Colbert asks him to name the commandments.  The 
douche nozzle can't do it.
