A stupid comment, since many of us are doing exactly what we "should" be
doing, helping to build an oppositional movement through the vehicles we
have now. This is precisely what DSA and YDS does right, just on a marginal
scale. Supporting worker's struggles, connecting these struggles with the
need for socialism. Being active on campuses. Running educational
workshops. Ideally we should someday mimic (the best aspects) of the
campaigns in the United Kingdom to create a new worker's party (oppositional
movement). This is a job that at the very least requires agreement and
imitative among the leadership and current organizations of the left. The
whole point is our efforts building micro-sects, front groups or providing
left cover for Democrats have abjectly failed. Everything. Attempting what
Soldarity calls "a left refoundation" and further down the road the actual
"strategy of patience" of this movement requires well... lots of *patience *and
unglamorous effort.
Plus it's *Friday *night. I'm not going out to do anything, but drink until
some girls think I'm charismatic.
