It is at least worth considering that (a) capitalism requires _a_ state, but the kind of state doen't matter as kibg as ut naubtubs irder abd diesb;t ubterfere tii nycg wutg the process of capital accumulation. Considering the wide variety of states under which capitalism has flourished, there is empirical evidence at least for this.

Also historical grounds: _IF_ capitalism required a particular form of state, why have not Marxist theorists been able to come to any agreement at all as to the nature of this hypothetical "capitalist state."
