> Today's demonstrators retreat to coffee shops, video games
Coffee shops are hubs of plebian intellectual activity. They barely existed in the US before the 1990s. The fact that they exist today is a huge improvement.
Videogames are, have been, and for the foreseeable future will remain the sole property of the transnational Left. They are part of a massively expanding digital commons, which transnational capital has been unable to repeal or quell.
And I repeat: American university students today are hammered by astounding amounts of debt. Younger students get into debt because there's no other way to pay tuition; older students like myself get hammered by medical bills. My own financial aid loans were the only reason I could afford about $3000 of dental work since 2006.
