the point is that it matters who you are talking to in terms of what you can productively say... and that as you engage in sustained conversation one of the things you have to allow for is people making up their own minds... since you can't say the same thing to everyone productively, since you have to choose your audiences and battles, and since you have to let people think for themselves along the way - all the while making decisions about whether it is worth continuing to engage them, maybe the way this exchange keeps implying that there's one argument that most needs to be made is mostly just pissing in the wind...
