Now, what Britain *can* do is have their intelligence services gin up a fake report that says the Pope is developing weapons of mass destruction, push a resolution through the UN, invade Vatican City, shoot up some cardinals, bomb St. Peters, capture Herr Ratzinger, convict him at a show trial, and hang him before there are too many questions asked. Now, *that* would be OK. Hitchens can explain how it is in defense of democracy and the Enlightenment, and a needed blow against Christofascism.
