And most of them [tea baggers and their ilk] are angry about looming cuts in NASA's manned spaceflight program. Generally, this demographic hates big govt. - except when they don't. Last I checked, NASA was a part of the govt. (And actually, as Chomsky notes, a way the state provides subsidy to corporations.)

They - tea baggers - are worshipful of the prison industrial complex, and hate the NASA cuts ("Europe or China might overtake us!"),cops, the death penalty, and all the macabre, death-dealing, macho parts of raw state power. Small government my ass.
