Burger clearly was the candidate who was favored by Stern and represented the most continuity with him. Henry was elected on the backs of key locals on the West Coast and local 1199, Burger favored on the East (Boston, DC, Chicago). Burgers' pitch to SEIU board was that she was going to continue to focus the union on public sector health care workers and add a half million workers between now and 2012 on the back of the new health care bill. Henry is a nurses' leaders in California, Burger a DC insider... it seems intuitive enough as to what this means at least symbolically. Where's your "proffer analysis on" this "complex matter"?
