Grapevine Adam Graham / The Detroit News Gaga, Eminem top VMA nominees MTV has gone gaga for Lady Gaga , showering the singer with a record 13 nominations for its upcoming Video Music Awards, the network announced Tuesday. No artist in a single year has garnered more VMA nominations. No slouch himself, Detroit rapper Eminem comes in with eight nominations, including Video of the Year for "Not Afraid." In that category, he squares off with Lady Gaga, nominated for both "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" (with Beyoncé ), as well as 30 Seconds to Mars' "Kings and Queens," B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams' "Airplanes" and Florence + the Machine's "Dog Days are Over." Elsewhere, teen sensation Justin Bieber is nominated for Best New Artist, alongside Ke$ha , Jason Derulo , Nicki Minaj and Broken Bells . The MTV Video Music Awards air live at 9 p.m. Sept. 12 from Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre.
