[lbo-talk] The Banality of anti-Israel Lobby Doctrine

I should think that the key consideration here is the fact that support of Zionism in both the U.S. is grounded in the claim/assumption of the identity of Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semisism. Hence politically effective attacks on Zionist support MUST above all undercut this idological foundation of Pro-Zionism. A focus, even a secondary or nuanced concern with that lobby almsot invariably plays into the hands of the Zionists.

And what is gained by giving any attention whatever to the Jewish Lobby? All it _ever_ doesd is divert discussion from Palestine to long and compelx arguments about what is and what isn't anti-Semitism. And in the process, what is going on in Palestine gets subordinated. And then one _does_ begin to suspect (probably wrongly but nevertheless) that those making a fuss abut the Jewish Lobby are really more concerned with it than they are with the struggle of the Palestinians.

Practical political strategy calls for ignoring, _co0pletely_, the "Jewish" Lobby.
