"Idiots in government" live in a stifling atmosphere in which everything
counts. That doesn't mean it does. 

Passive pubic opinion is irrelevant anyhow to left organizing. At any one
time left activists need only be interested on those they can reach  _then_.
Today's public opinion wafts off with the next pointless headline.

Persuasion never persuades anyone. All this gossip won't bring a single
extra activist to any local group.
