Somebody: Marxism has problems dealing with low wage service industry
workers just as it has with high wage skilled workers. Like Wojtek
pointed out, geographic dispersion and lack of concentration matter as
much, at least, as class position. In fact, class as a unit of
analysis really only succeeds when dealing with the bourgeoisie, the
most cohesive and self-conscious class in history.

CB: Most Marxists are acutely aware of divisions within the working
class. Marx and Engels clued us all in when they made "Workers of the
world , _unite_ ! (emphasis added) the central advice and slogan of
the movement. Marxist analysis doesn't have a problem being aware of
the many ways that the working class is divided. It does have big
problems persuading workers to overcome these divisions.
