Presumably a CEO's pay comes FROM surplus value. So the quarrel is over how the capitalists should divide it up among themselves.

I don't see how it's relevant to wage levels for the working class.

Marx is pretty explicit. Wages are fair by definition. The general level is set by class struggle.

I don't see why the WSJ should care about CEO pay.

And let's keep moralism out of politics. See the chapter on the working day. Where equal rights collide, force decides it. Not complaints about injustice.
