He was arrested not on rape charges but for questioning on charges. No charges have yet been laid. Assange went to the police voluntarily. He had already offered to answer any questions in the UK but Swedish authorities of course nixed that. He has been denied bail The whole affair is absolutely ludicrous and for some reason the press never really gets into details. The two women who are victims boasted about the sex they had with Assange on social media. Both admit the sex was consensual but somehow because a condom was not used in one case and broke in the other it is not consensual!
