Retaining tax breaks for the rich means extending austerity at the state and local level, and that will definitely be an attack on his base.

^^^^ CB: Federal tax breaks don't much effect state and local level. That would be a very indirect effect. The most direct part of the action is _helping_ the base.
As usual around here leaping and stretching and bending over backwards and worst-case-scenaroing-imagining to find a way to attack Obama and for something that hasn't even happened and when it is the Republicans who are patently majorly/mainly responsible for this, but not a peep about the Reps.
