No, you've missed my point. I don't take either finding at face value. Most of those who say they like socialism don't mean what you or I do by the term. But that's not the point. The fact that liberals - even in the capitalist media, I note - have been provoked into defending socialism by a right-wing hysteria campaign over healthcare has meant that as a political term it is more acceptable. That's a propaganda opportunity for the Left. As someone once said somewhere at some time - if they give you a handle, turn it.
