Actually, no. The apartment I lived in for almost all those years was very soundproof. Heard a few intense altercations in the hallway - e.g., a drunk ex pounding on the door of the neighbor across the hall, a soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend screaming when her creepy boyfriend locked her out in the hall unclothed, and another ex upstairs who was pissed that her former girlfriend had taken up with a man. Saw two fires in apartments across the airshaft two - one of them fatal. But overheard no sex. And the only apartment we get sound from in our Brooklyn joint is the crazy dude upstairs, and I think the only sex he gets comes from his palm.

So I feel deprived.
