In the 1960's, some social scientists did a study of members of Billy 
James Hargis' Christian Crusade, which I imagine our vigilant 
fascism-spotters would classify as proto-fascism or something. The 
Christian crusaders were asked to place various forms of government on a 
spectrum. They placed "Nazism, fascism, socialism and communism" on the 
extreme left; "no government at all" on the extreme right; and "the 
American system" (meaning their preferred system) in the middle.

That's the American right for you, at least in their own imagination.
