Also, for a lot of paleolibs, isolationism simply translates into being against any and all forms of "global governance," now matter how desirable (or awful). Paleolibs do oppose UN-vetted "police actions," but they would also be against any kind of international pact on energy & climate regimes that seriously attempted to address the ecological debt North owes South (not that such any creature is in the offing).

This does not directly refute the implication of your question, but it does complicate matters a bit.
