Bryan's post reflects on the early to mid twenties age group within Randian supporters. Coincidental to this thread is an exchange that I've been having with a fourteen year old relative who professes much of the same dogma as Bryan reports. In one post he says ...

Socialism and conservatism: different, cannot function with each other successfuly. Socialism: cannnot exist successfully or ethically. Personal freedoms: taken away in socialist societies, (example: Cuba) Capitalism: the only ethical and moral system of society and economics ever devised by man, which has been solely responsible for all modern advances in technology and human progress."
The boy is a student at Fairfield High School, and I have to wonder if the some of the folks that Bryan is engaged with haven't found perches from which to pontificate in the public schools.
