I'm not disagreeing with your argument, but I wonder if it also applies
to software firms. My experience with large computer firms is that
innovation gets lost or nowhere in the many layers of management, which
is why there are so many startups and why, after a certain point, large
computer corps "grow" by buying said small, successful companies.
There is actually not that much differential in pay and a lot of
engineers greatly prefer the smaller firms.
Just saying.
