Jews in Russia do not consider themselves to be Russians, and vice versa, and would look at you funny if you said they were. Russians are a Slavic people. Russian Jews came in from Spain, and until around 1945 (important date, that) tended to speak a completely different language.
I'm pretty sure that most Jews in Germany and France do not consider themselves to be German or French, either, or didn't until quite recently.
