They weren't even Marxists, let alone "orthodox Marixsts." Kautsky and Lenin created Marxism; Stalin created Leninism. The resultant artifical construts have subsequently been twisted around to fit whatever politics a given "Marxist" or "Leninist" was following at a given time. Both change constantly at the behest of immeidate needs, real or imagined.
