I live in Seattle. I lurk here and other than that mostly am way out of the loop about good speakers on ptogressive econ topics for popular audiences. By popular audience in this case I mean a pretty hip house of worship with a Sunday morning adult ed program. Alas I think more can be done with the topic of economics than has been done recently and I am looking for more or less local talen up for about 40 minutes of presentation followed by 20 minutes of questions.
Topics open though some that interest me include:
--Labor rights as if everyone matters
--Alternative ways to slice eg GDP / pricing... to preserve biodiversity
--critique of mainstream intellectual property law
--people power and international trade bodies
--alternative agriculture pricing to cut out big agribusiness....
Anyway if you live in Seattle or have names or topics to suggest, please email me offlist.
THANKS
