A philosopher is a person who chooses to live a conscious life, despite the fact that such a life includes a lot of painstaking and painful realizations. A philosopher is a person who, living a conscious life, chooses also to help others who do not know why they are in pain.

The reason there are not a lot of philosophers is because it's an arduous and somewhat solitary life.
