The symposium on his book in Historical Materialism is worth reading --
though I forget my reaons for that judgment or the details of the
various comments.

But at the time I read it my personal impresdsion was that while the
thesis asserted in his title is ridiculous, his understanding of
capitalism is profound, and  his book is probably worth reading.
