I was just on Highway 1. It also takes you to California Men's Colony, which was my destination yesterday. But apart from that ugly connection it is a beautiful beautiful road, especially north and south of San Francisco.

It's also the road that took Tippi Hedren to Bodega Bay and out again later, a little worse for wear and tear. Come to think of it, it must also be Highway 1 that James Stewart and Kim Novak drove to the spot where they had their first kiss in Vertigo.
