Hi all,

News from Australia a classic battle between left and right over the wealth being generated in the mining industry and how much the capitalist class should be taxed to provide for the national infrastructure of Australia. This union made video is pretty amusing. Problem is that most workers are convinced that they have interests in common with the employing class and that is making many, many of them fall for the rather large media campaign by the mining capitalists and their allies in the Liberal/National Party Coaltion to get the tax proposal axed. The Coalition is hoping to ride this false consciousness to victory in this year's national election.

I know, I know, the whole concept of a 'fair day's wage for a fair day's work' mentioned in the video makes workers blind to the inherently exploitive nature of the wage system and plays into conservative propaganda spin doctors' hands.
