Just a footnote.

The fear of 'turning people off' exists in some form all the way 'over' to the wildest anarchists. There was panic on pen-l at the time some Greek bozo threw a fire bobm. Oour favorite Conspiracist, Shane, even suggested it was a plot by the Establishment to discredit the left.

But here's the thing, as I've put it many times before. There will ALWAYS be nuts; there will ALWAYS be very noisy groups with off-the-chart programs. Name you political poison: It will _always_ be there! A left that can't prosper with innumerable hangers-on that discredit it is not a left capable of doing anything even if the 'nuts' weren't there.

I have reminded my favorite crdackpot realist (Max) several times that there is so way he can avoid being tarred by the brush I and others provide the tar for.
