I attended a conference in Florida in 1982 at the same time that 
Mugabe's minister of justice was giving a talk, which I attended.  He 
spoke about his gratitude for the hospitality, which Ian Smith had 
offered him (incarceration), although, he said that he was not about to 
reciprocate.
His performance gave me great hope for his country.
