Oh, I see. I was reacting to the confusion between "Russia" and "Russian Empire," as a Brit would react to the confusion between "England" and "the United Kingdom." It is a common confusion, as when people use "Russia" when they mean "the USSR," which was actually Russia and over a dozen other republics.
