But that U of Ill salary scale is completely top heavy in the medical
fields. The highest paid sociologist was just under $100,000, pol science
$191,000 and economics was just a little bit more. Compared to the nearly
three pages of people in the medical fields making over half a million
each!!! So when it comes to University cost issues, the medical field seems
to be taking a much larger slice of the pie than others (atleast based on
this very small sample).
Also, anecdotally I heard many people say that they changed their minds or
made there minds up against health care reform because their physician told
them it was a bad idea (with horror stories about how their service
would change). I also have a distant relative in med school who was scared
shitless that a single payer system would go through and smash his dreams of
becoming a millionaire.
