But as I hinted before, I think the theory gets more play than the lit because people love to love it and love to hate it. Afaict (and I admit I am not in an English dept), the truth is that lots of people at lots of places still actually like to talk about literature, especially in college. Grad schools are another matter, but then the argument about grad education is a different kind of argument.
