BTW, does anyone know what the original german was for "struggles and wishes of the age" and if there is any peculiar inflection we might pick up from the german words that we don't get with the u.s.

speaking of which, critical critic sent me a link to a great article about lenin's what is to be done. it was a book review of a book that took the track apart, bit by bit, explaining who's who and what's what, including research particular meanings of russian words that weren't conveyed in english translation.

if critical critic is reading, perhaps s/he can send it to the list?
