CB: Yes. Also, the countries that had socialist revs had less developed forces of production (and thus, militaries) than the most advanced capitalist countries that didn't have revs.

Marx and Engels had held generally that to succeed, socialist revs had to take place in the countries with the most advanced forces of production. So, the Marxist "answer" concerning the 20th Century was correct, but told of an unsurmountable barrier.
