[lbo-talk] Air crashes

Of the 90 or so fatal air crashes that occurred since 2000, only 4 involved
major Western European or North American airlines (Air France - 2 counts)
American Airlines and SAS (1 each) plus 1 Singapore Air (a major carrier
too.) The remaining 85 or so involved either "budget" or third world or
former Soviet country airlines.
Is that an outcome of "neo-liberalization" of air travel in which "cascading
down" older aircraft to less reputable airlines is an important element?
