I agree Miles. In my experience, critics are those who haven't studied evolution theory. Here are a couple of excellent texts for new students:

HUMAN NATURE AND PUBLIC POLICY, by Somit and Peterson.

EVOLUTIONARY THOUGHT IN PSYCHOLOGY, by Henry Plotkin.
