Rand Paul faces possible challenge, staff shake-up By ROGER ALFORD The Associated Press Wednesday, May 26, 2010; 2:13 PM

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Libertarian Party is considering running a candidate in Kentucky's U.S. Senate race, saying GOP nominee Rand Paul - the son of a former Libertarian presidential candidate - has betrayed the party's values.

^^^^^ CB: Libertarian/Republican sectarianism and splintering would be a good thing for America. One thing about individualism: it's probably ripe for disunifying.

Or maybe I'm wishfully thinking.

Also, I suppose the libertarian wing of the Reaganite coalition coming to the fore is better than the rightwing religious segment dominating.

Don't hear much from the religious right these days in the media. Tea Partiers don't seem to emphasize religion.
