What is the relationship between how many things are completely off most Americans' radar and what you accused me of saying about the American working class just a moment ago? ======
It is becoming obvious that when most (almost all) people talk about "_the_ [emphasis always implicitly there] American Working Class" (especially of course when they are "defending it") their frame of reference is identity politics. And since there is no such thing as "a working-class identity," the whole discussion becomes pointless. That is one of the reasons I don't read quite a few people on this list.
