[lbo-talk] Trying to beat an unending virus

Posters and lurkers....

...I have been battling some kind of virus since mid-August.

It started as a cold & sinus infection. One week of penicillin ended the sinus infection, but something sinusy has been continuing since then with intermittent stuffiness, sniffles, mild headaches, fatigue, etc.

Though energy is getting better, sniffles diminishing, headaches waning....it still nibbles at the edges, causing havoc in many different ways: last week it was conjunctivitis (pink eye), which is kinda responding to antibiotic eyedrops, but is not totally gone. Also, ulcery stuff. The sinusy stuff comes and it goes, wrecking something different each time it reappears.

Went to the doctor who said: ears clear, lungs clear, blood tests OK....it's viral; nothing we can do about it.

Went to the acupuncturist who said, you're not really sick; you're just tired.

I'm getting so frustrated with this, I could scream.

I have some flunase (steroid nose stuff) I could use to dry out sinuses and see if all this secondary bacterial stuff goes away.

Otherwise....anyone out there have any experience with this? I do get mild allergies...but these wouldn't normally be accompanied by secondary infections.....right?

Sigh,

Joanna
