Migrants to Canada are treated about as well as in the United States, whereas the welfare state is considerably more developed. More concretely, the employment gap (that is, the difference in employment rates) between natives and immigrants is relatively low in Canada, as it is in the United States, in contrast to many European countries.
Anyway, saying that the U.S. is the winner in a comparison of core-capitalist countries because children of illegal immigrants are better treated is virtually tantamount to saying that colonial settler states are superior to their older post-feudal counterparts.
