justice and replace it with the apparent common sense of "might makes
right."

Well, might does in historical fact make right -- though notions of what is
right go into determining might. Bertrand Russell is good on this.

And in any case the common rant is precisely rant of truth and justice.
That is the core of the Ideology of America is always Right.
