Cuba was a liberated zone; it still has _some_ independence of
international capital. Lenin knew that building socialism outside the
core of capitalism was a pipe dream -- he also knew one had to try.
There's no counter-revolution, there is merely an attempt to keep Cuba
as decent as possible.
Calling USSR, China, Cuba "Socialist" societies is sheer dogmatism. The
next step is to 'criticize' them for not conforming to some abstract
blueprint.
Long Live the Cuban Revolution -- but don't pretend it was or ever could
have been socialism.
