Right, real wages, as opposed to nominal.

Incidentally, a friend of mine, a skilled electrician, who is getting his Abitur (secondary school certificate required for university study) in an adult education program, says that if he wanted to, he could easily get job as an electrician in the EU outside of Germany. German workers are prized by employers in other EU countries for being both highly skilled and dirt cheap.
